I've also had bad luck with generic laser cartridges. The one I bought recently says NT-C2298X. I can't recall where I bought it, but likely Amazon: ggimage.en.alibaba.com. The good news is that it says it does 8800 pages for really cheap. The bad news is that I often have ghosting. Fortunately quality is not an issue for me these days but it irks me nonetheless. I'd also love to know a good generic toner company.

Vireya and Jeffrey,

I bought the cartridge through Amazon through "LD Products". This is the first time I've bought a non-HP cartridge, so I cannot say whether I was just lucky or what. FWIW, I intend to buy from them again when this cartridge runs dry, but since I do not print all that much it might be a while.

The cartridge I bought: amazon.com
