7/19/13 Contest Update The hunger for biotech stocks continued unsated for another week, despite a modest overall market performance. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 41.92% YTD (vs. up 36.81% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 42.34% (vs. up 40.99% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 18.81% YTD (vs. up 19.23% YTD a week ago). Our leader, BLADE’s portfolio, pierced the triple digit ceiling, finishing the week with a 104.85% YTD gain. But second place RKRW’s portfolio, up 101.52% YTD, also managed to clear the 100% mark and is within striking distance. FILO’s portfolio, up a mere 94.92% YTD, slipped to third place. At Friday's close, all 39 Contest portfolios were still in the black with 19 of the 39 now beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list.
