I know the company monitors the brokerage activity daily.I
understand that they have called the main Bay St.houses and
have the impression that the great bulk of high volume T.L.
selling is over. There may well be more to come but the impression
is that it wont be huge.I also believe that if you want to get back
in after a tax loss sale there has to be an interval of 3 weeks
between the sale and the buyback to qualify under Canadian
Tax law for an allowable deduction. If this is the case any sellers
in the next two weeks would have to wait until New Year to get
back in thus missing the possibility of a year end rally.
The thing that should concern us all is the p.o.g.I understand that
the Indian wedding season and the Chinese New Year are
imminent;this surprisingly accounts for I believe around 15% of
Gold trades annually as these countries culturally value gold
highly irregardless of market conditions.
Good luck to all.
