<a lot of people research to get a very good deal for example a 50$ toaster, but will not hesistate to plunk down thousands of $ at risk in stocks without thinking twice> You make some interesting points. I think people like to work in their comfortable one and not what may be outside but with much higher rewards. A good example is insurance business. Many peope buy all kind of insurance because of the perceived risks or everybody else is doing. I have learnt not to own a stock if I don't think its products are going to stay for long (more than 10 yrs.).
