There is so much about this trial that is just wrong. The president's intervention is huge.

But there is also the fact the Chief of Police was FIRED because he refused to make an arrest based on a lack of evidence. Today, the IT guy was fired (perhaps properly) for bringing out the fact that evidence was being withheld by the prosecutors. One other officer, I believe, was fired in connection with the case.

The city manager's involvement in this case was inappropriate and highly suspect.

While I would stop short of criticizing the judge in the case, because I think she wanted to avoid the Lance Ito mess, I wonder whether there wasn't some evidence that wasn't admitted that should have been. In particular, some of the cell phone message and images. I understood her argument, that he couldn't guarantee that Trayvon sent those. But I also wonder whether the jury ought not to be allowed to make that determination on their own. Those items really showed a different character of Trayvon versus the one presented as this "innocent teenager" that the prosecutors put forth. A mere "child". I think the judge generally ran the courtroom well.

"Then similar powers aligned with him financed (at your and my expense) ‘spontaneous demonstrations’ that in effect demanded that Zimmerman be found guilty. "

There is far more money behind Zimmerman's defense......primarily gun money (gee, I wonder why).....he has worn a new suit and tie every day bought by a friend.....

"The President of the United States has aligned himself, from the moment George Zimmerman pulled the trigger, killing a young thug who was threatening his life, with the thug … for the simple reason being that the thug is black."

It was because the kid was black that charges weren't brought for six weeks and only after interested parties began to demonstrate across the country was he arrested.... otherwise Zim would have skated....
