Because that is what a neighborhood watch is supposed to do. That and not carry arms. Most real neighborhood watches have those as rules. In Richardson, they dismissed a guy for having a baseball bat in his car.

Their duty is to watch. Not play policeman. Someone can get killed that way.

Just curious...>>"Oh really? Why should he have stayed in his SUV? Wasn't this a public place? Isn't he a free citizen? How is he any different than any of the neighbors? Are they required to stay indoors when Trayvon is around to make sure that he doesn't ambush them? He got out of his car to find the street address. One thing that can be guaranteed is that once he got out of the car, he wasn't chasing Trayvon. He was a man of less than average height and he was overweight. He wouldn't be able to catch Trayvon even if George had a 50 yard head start. Once George got out of the vehicle, the only way that the two of them could possibly meet face to face is if Trayvon approached him."<<

Did you get this from Zimmerman's court testimony or Martin's court testimony?

Well I'll be darned...neither testified in court and Martin had very "little" to say before the trial.
