Whenever wingers win an election, the USSC rules in their favor, the courts support one of their positions or Congress passes a law they like, America loses.

Obama's statement was carefully crafted to avoid a blatant attack on the judicial system while at the same time delivering a backhanded slap directly in the face of justice. It was an outrageous statement for a president to make about criminal justice. No comment on Zimmerman's destroyed reputation.

Effectively, he proclaimed the decision to be "wrong". But it was worded in a way that most people will never even consider what the underlying meaning is. What they hear is that poor Trayvon was murdered by this Zimmerman who got away with it.

Pathetic.

What Attorney General Eric Holder just said about the Zimmerman case
.....................................................................................................

There are the AG’s remarks at today’s Delta Sigma Theta sorority convention that will address Trayvon Martin / George Zimmerman

Of course, as this celebration unfolds, we are also mindful of the pain felt by our nation surrounding the tragic, unnecessary shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida last year – and the state trial that reached its conclusion over the weekend. As parents, as engaged citizens, and as leaders who stand vigilant against violence in communities across the country, the Deltas are deeply, and rightly, concerned about this case. The Justice Department shares your concern – I share your concern – and, as we first acknowledged last spring, we have opened an investigation into the matter.

Independent of the legal determination that will be made,I believe that this tragedy provides yet another opportunity for our nation to speak honestly about the complicated and emotionally-charged issues that this case has raised.

We must not – as we have too often in the past – let this opportunity pass.
I hope that we will approach this necessarily difficult dialogue with the same dignity that those who have lost the most, Trayvon’s parents, have demonstrated throughout the last year – and especially over the past few days. They suffered a pain that no parent should have to endure – and one that I, as a father, cannot begin to conceive. Even as we embrace their example and hold them in our prayers, we must not forego this opportunity to better understand one another and to make better this nation we cherish.

Moreover, I want to assure you that the Department will continue to act in a manner that is consistent with the facts and the law.

We are committed to standing with the people of Sanford, with the individuals and families affected by this incident, and promote healing. We are determined to meet division and confusion with understanding and compassion – and also with truth. We are resolved, as you are, to combat violence involving or directed at young people, to prevent future tragedies and to deal with the underlying attitudes, mistaken beliefs and stereotypes that serve as the basis for these too common incidents. And we will never stop working to ensure that – in every case, in every circumstance, and in every community – justice must be done.

Attorney General Eric Holder

Why is Joshua Chellew less important than Trayvon Martin?
.............................................................................................................
Police: Mableton fatal assault not racially motivated

By Christian Boone
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Excerpt:

The deadly assault of a Mableton man has become a national story, at least online, with several web sites and blogs claiming Joshua Chellew was killed because he was white.

Initially reported as a hit-and-run, police now say Chellew died June 30 after an attack by four black teenagers in Cobb County.

According to the arrest warrant, the 36-year-old victim was repeatedly punched and kicked by the youths outside a Chevron gas station. Chellew, badly beaten, eventually stumbled onto Mableton Parkway, where he was run over. He died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses told police that the four suspects made no attempt to aid Chellew or stop the approaching vehicle that hit him. The driver of that car was not charged, said Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce.

A brutal crime, no question, but not one fueled by racial animosity, according to investigators.

“This was not racially motivated,” Pierce told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Cobb County police are investigating this like any other crime.”

Who’s Joshua Chellew? The fact that you don’t know his name is the whole point. But that’s not your fault.

Four south Cobb teenagers are in custody in connection with the beating death of a 36-year-old Mableton man on Mableton Parkway early Sunday morning…

They have been accused in the beating death of Joshua Heath Chellew, 36…

According to the warrant, the four teenagers are accused of starting a fight with Chellew at a Chevron gas station in the 6200 block of Mableton Parkway near Community Drive at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday. They repeatedly punched and kicked him, according to police.

While attempting to escape, Chellew backed into the center five-lane highway and was pushed to the ground and knocked unconscious, the warrant states.

They then walked away from Chellew, “leaving him helpless,” and he was eventually hit by a car, the warrant states.

A horrible, senseless murder. Why hasn’t it received wider attention?

This might be why. Joshua Chellew:

If Obama had four more sons…

Courtesy of Top Conservative News, which notes:

If the races had been reversed, this would be the biggest news story in the United States. It would have knocked the Zimmerman trial out of the news.

Yep. Or, if Chellew had been able to defend himself against one or all of them, he’d be the new George Zimmerman. We’d be seeing baby pictures of his attackers. Al Sharpton would be marching. Jay Carney would be filibustering away all questions about Obama’s latest race-baiting. MSNBC would be on full alert.

But Chellew wasn’t able to defend himself. He probably deserved it, right? I mean, just look at him. You can’t get any whiter than that.

Just another creepy-ass cracker.
