an Austrian School nut job

It's common here to use assertions in lieu of arguments. Posters of a certain stripe seem to do it more than their opposites.

Austrian School nut job

When I see presumably sane people sneering at Austrians I have to believe they're acting with inadequate or damaged information. Otherwise, I'd have to think them evil.

The Austrian School is one strain of a refinement and enhancement of the liberal tradition that informed the founding of what was once the freest nation ever and was therefore a beacon to the world. That liberalism attempted to grant the greatest possible degree of autonomy to the individual, thus liberated human ingenuity to accomplish things theretofore unimaginable.

That liberal tradition was and is based on an astute and comprehensive analysis of how peoples prosper under different social orders. It developed by analyzing real experience.

In that it differs from the moral disease that stole the liberal label, disgraced it, and now hides behind the term "progressive". That disease is conjured by fevered madmen who imagine they can concoct instructions on how their anointed can rule others to better effect. Results at best have been inferior.

While liberty is in retreat here, at least some degree of economic freedom seems ascendant in parts of the Orient.

Those observant whose temporal perspective is measured in decades or generations will understand what's transpiring.

For the US, a damned shame!
