college is expensive because of the cheap federal loans. go after the colleges if you want cheap schools

College loan interest rates is a war on kids. Quite the opposite, they are still getting a subsidy. No pre school is a war on kids. No one is forbidding anyone from going to preschool. Expensive college is a war on kids. Expensive partially because of those subsidized loans. Also again the students are still being subsidized. A subsidy is rather different than being the target for a war. Making contraceptives tough to get is a war on kids. Contraceptives are easy to get. Want to make them easier? Well you could support birth control pills being OTC. But all this war talk is just silly. Literally waging war involves using deadly false on a massive scale. Figuratively waging war doesn't have to be actually deadly, but it has to involve imposing great harm. Slightly reducing subsidies, doesn't equal "imposing great harm". Reducing them to zero, wouldn't be imposing harm, it would be acting neutrally in the situation. To wage war on college students, even in a figurative sense, the government would have to make the net subsidy negative. It would have to be imposing fines or other penalties on those going to college (or preschool or whatever).
