From Morning Star:

Quarterly Results 3Q1997 2Q1997 1Q1997 4Q1996
......................................................................
EPS 8.56 1.26 0.66 -0.15

Data as of 10/31/97

Added up this gives 4 quarters trailing earnings of $10.63

Divided by 2 for the stock split gives $5.315.

Divinding into the current stock price of ca. $46.00 gives

a P/E of ca. 8.8

Where do you get your information for a P/E > 20???

Scott.

I referenced this within my posts:

Message 2882566

I think you may have misread Morningstar's 3Q97. TXN made $1.20 for the quarter (vs. a FC consensus expectation of $1.14) on revenues of $2.5B. Definitely NOT your stated $8.56.

(...btw, you'll have a better chance of getting a response if you actually post to the person you are addressing)
