Why would you think anyone would want them, gold or silver? People would want food, shelter, and transportation. I would take a car in exchange for say house rent. I wouldn't take diamonds or coins, I might not find a bigger fool to exchange their false value with me. I might could use the car.

Of course, all this talk is based on the collapse of everything. Have that many people on this topic turned to this belief.

Or platinum, silver or just about any other metal. I've noticed that all mining stocks have got beaten up recently. I don't own any but the ones that mine for anything that is not gold are starting to look attractive and I think that short term they could fall further and provide an excellent buying opportunity.
