Microsoft hasn't given RT a reason to exist yet. Modern apps, while they are much better than Android tablet apps, still aren't good enough to sell the platform. And for the same price as the iPad, it was DOA. Before the Mini, there might have been a market for non-iPad tablet at $400 or so, but not anymore. Android tablets need to be under $300 to be considered. With Surface's new price, it might have a shot now, but probably not.
