Rod, Run those PP 6146s at red heat for a KW CW rig. I made one years ago, hold the key down and you get meltdown.
It is amazing how tube like FETs are(minus the vacuum and heat and filament)They even have tube distortions and you rate the with transconductance. An analog grid effect is present, you amplify voltages, A transistor made with N-P junctions is more like a coanda jet, amplifying current flows.
Of course never forget the rotary spark gap transmitters from the teens. 100 KW of broadband interference(square waves), it would have made the FCC die of apoplexy.
