The comment had much less to do with taking a swipe at Texas, than inviting a citizen as yourself to respond with some thoughtful intelligent response of your own. You live there, are a morally superior human being by your own admission, closer to the reality, so what are those assessments of facts you've drawn that you could reasonably supply here? If you want to make this a retarded contest, just a cursory search finds Texas has the highest prison incarceration, with 1/3 less population than California, which are some pretty amazing stats really & quite a dubious distinction.

Texas has nation's largest prison population, there's no contest here, just the fact for you to make analysis from.
