Limiting illegal voting is not a bad thing. That is all voter ID is designed to do.

'That's Me:' Dems Laud Obama on Trayvon

JOHN MCCAIN WOULD LIKE TO SEE 'STAND YOUR GROUND' REVIEWED

(NEWSER) – President Obama's remarks on the Trayvon Martin verdict reverberated around the talk shows today, with Democrats saying Obama hit close to home when he spoke of "being followed in a department store," reports Politico. "That’s me on a daily basis, and especially when I’m home in New Orleans and I’m dressed down," said Rep. Cedric Richmond, adding that, "as a black man, it is very, very frustrating and you build up an internal anger about it that you can’t act on." It's particularly vexing "when you’re doing what you should be doing." Added Xavier Becerra: "I've never seen a president of the United States address this—address it personally—and that’s a big difference." CBC chair Rep. Marcia Fudge added that there's "a broader discussion that we need to have [about] how we are treating poor and minority people in this country." John McCain, meanwhile, said that Stand Your Ground laws—even in his home state of Arizona—" may be something that needs to be reviewed." More on the Sunday dial, as per Politico:

Mich. Gov. Rick Snyder on Detroit's bankruptcy: "This was a very tough decision, but it’s the right decision because ultimately what we need to do is get better services for the 700,000 residents of Detroit. There were no other viable options." McCain on Rolling Stone's Dzhokar Tsarnaev cover:"I thought it was stupid, and I thought it was inappropriate. Rolling Stone probably got more publicity than they’ve had in 20 years." But, "For me to tell them to pull their magazine from the bookshelves and newsstands—it’s not up to me to do that." Candy Crowley on Helen Thomas: "She did not live perfectly, but she lived passionately and she made a difference. She was not about being the first woman to do this or that. She was about making sure she was not the last woman to do this or that." Ted Cruz on 2016: “We are having a national debate about which direction the country should go, and what I am doing now is trying to participate in that. I’m not focused on the politics. I’ve been in the office all but seven months. The last office I was elected to was student council. So this has been a bit of a whirlwind.”Cruz on debate over his citizenship: “My mother was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She’s a US citizen, so I’m a US citizen. I’m not going to engage in a legal debate. The facts are clear. I can tell you where I was born and who my parents were.”Click for more on John Boehner's appearance this morning.
