I thought I would let you know that yesterday we had our annual family picnic, 36 people this year. Every year, for the past 3 anyway, we have deep fried 3 turkeys and supplemented them with tons of various salads or whatever people choose to bring. This year, in addition to supplying a turkey and a salad made by my wife, I decided to do your wife's baked beans recipe. The good news is that everyone loved them, including the kids and teenagers. One guy in has late forties said he didn't even like pork and beans as a rule, but thought they were delicious. A woman gave me the gold star of the evening for them. The bad news is that being one of the people cooking the birds, I got to the food a bit later than most. I had to scrape the bottom of the pot to get a tablespoon. A bummer for me......next year I will do a double batch. BTW, I used about a pound of side pork. Please pass on my regards to your wife.
