Rarebird, you said:
As a citizen of the world, I have a global and
transcendental consciousness which I utilize to evaluate a company like Cube.

I have to agree with you on this statement.

You see only its technology.

I don't agree with you on that one. Just because I can see the technology doesn't mean that it is all I see. I think that CUBE has more than the tech. It has the marketing foresight to know what products will be needed, and it has the management drive and people to develop them before before the other companies. Examples: single chip VCD decoder, single chip DVD decoder, single chip MPEG1 codec, single chip MPEG2 encoder. I call this marketing foresight with the tech to back it up. Why do you discredit the things you don't understand?

Fortunately, the stock market is much more profound and
metaphysical than You!

Stick it up your metaphysical a#@. We should all be so profound and metaphysical as you -- were you lying about CUBE's cash flow, or were just wrong?

The following chart says Cube had the 2nd largest reduction in "short" positions last month. If things are so bad, why has there been so much covering?

I don't have your "transcendental consciousness", however, I will be buying more CUBE tommorrow because;

1. it is likely that there will be positive news in the near term; i.e. the Western Cable Show next week, the DAVIC conference the following week, Dell, this quarter's earnings, etc.
2. the market has overracted to the devaluation threat (esp. as it relates to China)
3. CUBE's businesses are high growth (DVD, set top boxes, etc) and the current p/e doesn't reflect this
4. there is a possibility of a buyout

Rare,

I notice you're bullish on INTC.

What would you say about an mpeg/dvd company that started working with them? Just the PR from that should be good for the "little guy" don't you think? You better start loading up on InnovaCon then... :-)

As I've illuded to before, integrate a DVx core into a P3-MMX/DVx and you've got the goods to one up AMD and all the other P* wanabees, just like the the good old 386 & 486 days....

Rarebird: Did you read my wonderful post at 26238?

Question number two: When you bought cube or sold it short
were you thinking of the China syndrome only?

I always considered DVD a world wide event, China is
small potatoes!

Remember, look for a bottom at the 17 and a fraction area!

good luck c-ya!

Rarebird, while you focus on Asia you stand to be blindsided by the domestic news. DVD is here and now and CUBE is a major player. It will show up big next earnings and will likely more than erase any earnings reductions in Asia. Also profits from recent Divicon wins should start kicking in this quarter. It is time to take your short position profits and go long!
