Saying that the big banger needs a big banger and so forth just creates idiot circles. We know very little about the ultimate nature of reality. What we do know is that all man-made gods are absurd creatures that reflect the values, the hopes, the fears, and the ignorance of their inventors. We find bronze age gods amusing. But over amusement takes second place to our repugnance at the immorality of our ancestors--and at the terribly immoral supernatural creatures they created. Like the demon theory of medicine, we must leave these unfit gods behind and claim our heritage by walking on two legs instead of our knees...
