Chande in THE NEW TECHNICAL TRADER points out some weakesses in Trin and suggest market thrust is better but it is an end of day indicator requiring one to compute it. During the day we have trin that does in my mind set the overbought/oversold points of the market. I use < .70 to reflect OB, I begin to look for a reversal, If it moves to over 1.20 to reflect oversold, I begin to look for a reversal. Price of the index is the real measure of turnaround. Best thing to do is to combine a chart of NYSE and Trin on a tick or X minute basis ad see if you want to live with .30 change. BTW: there are NAZ and AMEX trin.

We are not saying the opposite, really, the original question had minus figures, they don't exist in Trin. The use of the term "thrust" for a trin made me think of Chande. The author of the piece posted thinks .30 moves reflect a change in trend, I think you would get whipsawed if that was your trigger. I have always kept Trin and Tick before me usually in the form of charts in RT. I think the trigger lines is the best and less risky way to use trend.
