HERNDON, Va., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- PSINet Inc. together with Gardy
McGrath International Inc. presents the Internet's first LIVE Jazz Festival
broadcast in conjunction with the Fall Internet World 97 Conference at the
Jacob Javits Center in New York City from December 10 - 12. The World Wide
Jam offers in-person and on-line viewers the following:

-- A uniquely American cultural art form -- jazz
-- Geils and five of America's premier jazz guitar artists
-- Three days of LIVE Internet performances:
Wednesday: J. Geils and Gerry Beaudoin with Jay Leonhart (on bass)
Thursday: Frank Vignola and Gene Bertoncini
Friday: Jimmy Bruno and Jack Wilkins

This concert series honors the new Smithsonian exhibition, "Blue Guitars,"
a presentation of contemporary archtop guitars from the Chinery Collection, on
view at the National Museum of American History through October 1, 1998. Two
of the Blue Guitars will be utilized in performances throughout the concert
series. Performances will be from 11:00 - 11:45 am, 1:30 - 2:15 pm,
3:00 - 3:45 pm, and 4:15 - 5:30 pm (EST) each day except Friday. Friday's
activities will conclude after the 3:00 - 3:45 pm performances. Randall
Kremer of the Smithsonian Institution will formally introduce the performers.
Representatives from the Smithsonian will be on hand to answer questions
about the exhibition and discuss the role of the guitar in defining American
culture. Eminent guitar experts will also participate in interviews and
discussions throughout the concert series. To see the performances live,
attendees and media representatives can stop by PSINet's Internet World
Booth #1657 at the Jacob Javits Center, while on-line viewers can go to
psiweb.com on the World Wide Web. Details, such as performance
times and interviews, will be added to the site through December 12.
The performances have been arranged to showcase TV onthe WEB LIVE, a joint
business service of PSINet Inc. and TV onthe WEB(SM), a division of Gardy
McGrath International's full-service television and video production facility.
TV onthe WEB LIVE merges two of the most prevalent modern communications media
-- traditional television broadcast and the Internet. Offered through
PSINet's Applications and Web Services business unit, TV onthe WEB LIVE, which
is one of several new PSINet business-oriented Multimedia Services to be
announced during Internet World, is the industry's only complete service for
producing, compressing, hosting and distributing audio, video, and animation
content over the Internet. The broadcast will feature the TV onthe WEB
"Webcaster(TM)," a specially designed multi-camera mobile Internet television
station designed by Gardy McGrath technicians.
