To answer a couple of questions raised in earlier posts....

1. A company's transfer agent can go back through Depository Trust Company and get the names & addresses of all NOBO shareholders holding in street name from the brokerage firms themselves. This allows a company to send proxys, dividends and quarterly reports to street-name shareholders.

2. Since BookMatch is an integrated process involving initial testing, book selection, and follow-ups of various types, it would not appear that "lending" IDs and passwords would be very efffective.

Charles,

As I understand it, each child's reading level is assessed once per year, at the beginning of the subscription, so the book lists for that child (id) would only be useful to other kids at the same reading level. I do think they can change their interests though, so they could just input different interests and see what lists come up for their friends.

There is nothing to stop kids from sharing book lists or (maybe) generating lists for friends at the same reading level, but I'm not sure that is a big problem. The service seems to be aimed at parents who want to identify good reading material and enroll their kids in a plan that encourages them to read. Of course, the grey market kids won't be able to get rewards, and lending your id to someone else might result in their taking book quizes that would hurt your own chances of getting a reward.

Just my take on it.

Stuart.

The Napaegue Letter - TASA Update

THE NAPEAGUE LETTER
Thursday, December 11, 1997

Editor: Bob Davis napeague.com

As of the Close on Thursday, December 11, 1997:

Initial Analysis --- High --- Current Theoretical
Symbol Date Price Price Date Price Value
------ ---- ------ ------ ------ -------- -------------

TASA 9/5/97 $0.72 $1.34 12/3/97 $1.19 $2.50

Touchstone Applied Sciences (NASDAQ:TASA): There has been quite a bit
of good news out about TASA recently, and I am expecting more in the
near future. Since the Company's fiscal year ended on October 30th,
they are not required to publish financial results until the end of
January 1998. However, it is my understanding that TASA hopes to
release earnings sometime before the end of December. I am expecting
that the Company will report $0.01 and maybe $0.02 per share, with
stronger earnings anticipated for 1998.
