Greenies want negative growth. The liberals are a lose coalition of folks with differing, often conflicting goals some of them need / want growth but think the way to that is via more government. All of them have a scarcity mentality in that the concept of growth (increasing the pie) is contrary to their thought process of win-lose zero sum game. You take from some and give to others as opposed to creating opportunity for all. Theirs is a game of new age feudalism. The greenies of today are the druids of yesterday without their mathematical skills.
