of about $3.<<

dave, you can pull numbers out of your nether region but it doesn't make it so.

if applesauce was selling dram fro $4.50, why did he come on tv and say they were selling for $3.50. applesauce, dave. not skeeter. not trey. not mike burke. not ratan. not the newspapers. not the magazines.

btw, when he said $3.50, achilles was listing $3.50. now it is listing $3.10 or so.

i can understand why you have an emotional interest in playing chicken with reality. it is hard being wrong. however, everyone is wrong on some things, if not most things, all the time. the key is to whittle away at errors so that you have fewer going forward.

applesauce says $3.50. you say $4.00 to $4.50. come on dave, get with the program. you're pushing absurdity with wishfull thinking that doesn't smell too good ;-)

david-

i have to disagree with you. the CC in june (i think that was when it happened) confirmed that costs reductions were just about done. the costs per chip are still, in all likelyhood, not below 3.50. they are probably around 4.00. it would be nice if they could go on with cost reductions indefinitely, but at some point they have to end.

now, with their move to better process tech and finer geometries, they will reduce costs further, but they will probably not start to kick in until january or february.

as for asia, that is very valid. we need much more information.

good luck to all,
trey
