"No, I am not claiming that the accident was staged. I am only saying the whole story is strange. Up to and including the now canceled press conference."

The only thing strange about this discussion is you having it. WTF?

It wouldn't have been strange if, instead of Zimmerman, it was some unknown person.

The cancelation of the press conference is not strange, in that the people said up front they didn't want to get involved, and with the threats of violence from the black community, that is understandable.

The real "strangeness" is that a well known figure who was just acquitted happened to show up at the scene of the accident. This isn't REALLY strange, because it is likely, given his interest in police work, that he had a scanner in his vehicle and it was almost instinctive to show up.

I have a friend I've known since high school who was exactly like this, and I've known others in my life. From the time he was in high school he wanted to be a cop. And he was -- he started as a dispatcher, became later a cop and later a firefighter. There was nothing sinister about it -- the guy just wants to be helpful. And he wouldn't be caught dead without a scanner in his possession at any time.

I don't find any of it strange. Not my thing, but not strange.
