JAmes, IMO selling the US bonds makes 200% sense to me. My bet is that they will. The price appreciation has been significant, the yen is weak and they need the $$$$'s read my lips they will sell US BONDS.

Bulls rule:

This is amazing! so the US investor really believes US markets are inmune to what is going on elsewhere. I am currently 97% long 3% cash and 66% short. But the will use the currrent price strenght to sell/trim some of my long positions. Market neutral or even net short may ve wise here. Now, December is Santa's, Month, january brings the famous (probably non-existant) january effect, and if these cliches don't work we resort to argoments like year end bonuses will be invested in the market, money will flock it to the safety of US large issues. So does any one venture a guess on how much longer we will live on borrowed oxigen? I have been lucky enough to have been fully into equities since the very early 80's (1981) and even heavily leveraged on occasion, never listened to the bears. However, I had a sudden change of mind this summer. IMO the downside risk seems much greater than the upside potential. yet I wonder if the party may go on for another couple of years.....
