We have a failed "war on poverty" in our history, Chinu, thanks to LBJ. Lots of money was thrown there to no account. Of course that was the government doing the throwing and not private capital like in East Palo Alto. I wish we had statistics on what percentage of E. Palo Altoans were receiving a welfare check prior to its development as opposed to how many now. That might be meaningful data. Do you know if there are government housing projects in E. Palo Alto now?
