"Cumulus planning to drop Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity"

So? Capitalism at its best. They'll be back...but I'm sure you won't tell me when that happens.

Don't get excited. If it is true, they'll be picked up overnight by someone else. XM would love to have Limbaugh as an exclusive though. They already have Hannity.

It really doesn't make financial sense, however, since these are the two most heavily listened to talk shows on all of radio. We'll see if Cumulus actually admits it is true or not; so far, they've pooh-poohed it.

The big news will be Kidd Kraddick's death for a time.

Report: Rush Limbaugh Leaving Cumulus for Clear Channel

Posted by Jammie on Jul 29, 2013 at 8:10 am

Here in the New York market this means Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity would move over to WOR on the AM dial. It’s possible the move from one company to the other could results in 40 stations dropping them nationwide, but that’s merely a blip on the radio radar.

Rush Limbaugh‘s contentious and seemingly inevitable divorce from Cumulus Media and WABC has moved another step closer to reality, according to a published report Sunday – and Sean Hannity may be leaving with him.

New York radio observers have been expecting for the past year that Limbaugh and probably Hannity would leave WABC, which is owned by Cumulus, for rival WOR.

WOR was purchased last year by Clear Channel, which owns Premiere Networks, which syndicates the Limbaugh and Hannity shows.

“Cumulus prefers to use its own talent, and Clear Channel is happy to bring Premiere talent in-house,” said Robert Unmacht of iN3 Partners, a media group.

Politico reported Sunday that talks between Premiere and Cumulus had broken down over the cost of renewal rights for the conservative hosts, who have the two most popular radio talk shows in the country and have anchored WABC afternoons for more than a decade.

Some Media Matters morons are wetting themselves over this. Geez, these people are stupid. Even if you can’t get them over the air locally there’s this thing called the Internet. Idiots. It’s almost kind of sad to see such psychotic delusions.
