**OT.. Yes last summer in Toronto was hot.. my hibiscus are my best gauge.. They were a whopping two weeks early .. and actually stopped flowering before the cooler weather of fall (was first time for that).. this year the reverse.. up late.. no flowers yet.. Actually last spring was hot last year too unlike this year.. in fact last year we has -20 to almost +20 in a few day span last spring ... horrible for an early perennial.. pop up and get decapitated..

roses and raspberries (those interminable blackberries for you I guess :O) are loving it.. both are spectacular this year...

Not in Vancouver, where it has varied between hot and stinking hot, and we are about to experience the first rainless July since they started keeping records. But we're still a way from the all time record for days without precip, which was set in 1951 and covered 58 days.

I am already eating tomatoes and the basil and beans are looking good, with even the blackberries already showing some colour.
