What kind of logic is that? Humans have always worked for millions of years. We have to work to live. Working has nothing to do with cultural norms and mores. It is the kind of logic that says one has to dress according to the cultural norm at the work place and follow the rules more or less if one has to work--so one can't be doing his own script there, or any other place one has to interact with other humans and receive/want their approval. Part of the problem here i think is I don't have a solid understanding of how or why you are using the term "existential" (because you use it in all different kinds of contexts), and what that has to do with "scripts", "beliefs" and/or cultural norms.
