Yes, it does seem a waste, but there's only so much shark one can eat. The hungry mouths waiting in the ocean for the dead sharks and barracuda probably don't think it's a waste. And the potential victims are no doubt in favour of their predators being dead. As am I when great white sharks are killed.

The ocean does not belong to them. Contrary to popular mythology, the fact that sharks are in oceans does not mean they own them.

The only good shark is a dead shark. Killer whales could be reduced in number too. They are probably delicious.
