(2) They publish in peer reviewed journals. (3) Other scientists read it. (4) Scientists change their minds. (5) Journalists who talk to scientists learn the new information and write articles. (6) The topic becomes a matter of public interest. (7) Editorial boards for scientific organizations make statements. (8) The public learns about the science. (9) Politicians make political decisions. We already went through the above with the rise of global warming. My point here is that the editorial boards, politicians and public are the last to learn. With the climb down from alarmism we are progressing through the same steps. Look for the editorial boards, public and politicians to figure out the new science *last*. This is why your side is now the one that is denying peer reviewed science. You've already lost stage 2. What's happening now is that scientists are changing their minds and talking to journalists. More and more papers are coming out against alarmism. Reuters had to fire three alarmists. Now you're accusing the BBC of scientific incompetence, LOL. Soon you'll be complaining about the NY Times, LA Times, NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. After that will come the statements by scientific organizations. Eventually the public will learn the new "facts". I'll be amused to learn whether you keep beating the drum. My guess is that you'll move on to a new drum, probably ocean acidification. And since that's something no one really cares about, you might be able to keep it going for years. (Cockroaches don't like the light.) -- Carl
