If prison time was as effective that folks like you, MM and law enforcement say it is, then we would have a very very low crime rate. Getting these folks back into the mainstream should be our goal; a criminal justice systems that stresses more on rehabilitation through education (of the laws if there are any at the time the banks committed the crime) than taking punitive measures that are ineffective.

You think Martha Stewart has changed because they put her behind bars? Instead if they had fined her, she still would have committed another crime? Now that they put her behind bars, will she not commit another crime, can they guarantee that?
