The point was I thought you said religion gave comfort and so that was Ok. Nope. I didn't say that, although it would certainly apply to the conduct of religious people when feeling threatened. I referred to the tendency for people to retreat into a script when they are feeling uncomfortable about their circumstance. I was specifically referring to your string of left wing "what abouts" (the rich, republicans, voter suppression, war on women) which seemed to spring from no where.
