The Acacia acquisition is nothing short of rumours at this point. However, it would mean a large boost in the stock price. Acacia is a patent licencing firm that has been acting vigorously in court and just recently settled a case with Hewlett-Packard.

Marc Frechette joining Wi-Lan is positive news as well. Frechette holds an impressive resume and track record from Acacia and his time as a patent lawyer. He is the second Acacia employee to join Wi-Lan since June which adds further questions to rumours of an Acacia acquisition.
