Nixon only won because McGovern was a decent man and many people associate decency with weakness. Bobby Kennedy called McGovern the most decent man in the senate. He was brave, educated and decent. And the people voted him down for tricky dick. So how smart are the people? He was also a WWII bomber pilot and most of his squadron were shot down and killed. Very brave. And he had two PHD's with one in history and one in theology. He would have been one of our best presidents of all time. And people wonder what is wrong with our government. People loved Nixon who was a pathological liar and all around evil man.
