Gus, the point I draw from your list of the amount owed to overseas banks by the developing countries is that the bankers have not yet learned their lesson, and never will. Less than a decade after taking a bath in Latin America, the banking system seems to have decided once again that countries don't go bankrupt.

Another point is that while the Koreas and the others mismanaged their economies, international banks were willing accomplices. Who else financed the capital inflows that financed the excesses?
