Good morning Michael,
THe Possum Gump thread-I like it.
The Old Possum and the Sea
The Great Possum
Silas Possum
Possum 451
It's almost impossible to stop...

<<why didn't you turn the water on for brief periods and let it leak into the ground while you fixed the coffee?

Well-it was a Catch-22. (Possum-22) I never do anything before I have my coffee.
Also it was 6 am, cold, rainy, the water thingy is way down by the mailbox, and would have involved kneeling on the ground and putting my hands into a muddy wet box with a wrench. That's a man's solution.

Congratulations on the acquiring of your 300 new pets. That's a large number--seems to me the ant farm people only me sent 50 or so, most of whom died in transit. THe ant equivalent of the trip to the New World, I guess. An insect version of the Mayflower Voyage.

Ants are warm and cuddly; they're quite affectionate after they get to know you. I'm sure you'll grow to love them and care about them, and soon they'll have names and personalities and you'll marvel at how empty your life was before them. We look forward to hearing endearing ant stories!

Ammo says that he remembers dripping water onto a cotton ball on top of the dirt in his ant farm-kept the dirt dry but provided water for them. Also he said if you tried really hard, he bet you could train the ants to bring you your slippers. Maybe even bring in the paper, although you have to be careful they don't run out in front of a car.
The topic really livened up our breakfast.
