Giving $80B to Obama's cronies phony green companies certainly contributed to the deficit. So did the $800B non-stimulus.

Your right that old people, sick people, children etc. didn't cause the deficit. Politicians did. But they mainly caused it through spending on social programs, particularly the entitlements.
