Why they would want to bring such waste to Detroit, or right next to Detroit I have no idea.

Why? seriously Tim, you know why. They made more money dumping toxic waste there than they could any other way. That's the way "unregulated" capitalism works. They were supposed to get a permit but it's cheaper to just break the law since they will never go to prison.
