I didn't bring unions in to it, you where the one who started mentioning the workers losing their (union negotiated) benefits. I responded to that idea.

And in the the post of mine that you categorize as blaming unions I posted "Neither did unions" (that they didn't suffer in the particular case under discussion), that's hardly blaming them, which is why I wondered if you where actually reading the post you replied to (at least that specific one).

They where largely to blame in other situations, but as far as I can tell they where not a huge factor with Phizer (at least not that I could tell with my limited knowledge of early 2000s Phizer's situation) so I didn't blame them.

The point behind the "neither did unions", is that both unions and the CEO in that case got what the company was contractually obligated to give them, as there was no bankruptcy.

In other cases where there is a bankruptcy its up to the courts.
