Big business is often hopeless, especially when they are buddies of Big Brother who spend more time on spying on citizens to keep them in line and obedient than on keeping their coporate buddies honest. John Key and his government were keen to do a SWAT helicopter raid on Kim Dotcom at the behest of O'bama and his Hollywood paymasters over supposed copyright infringement, instead of sending a constable to knock on the door and ask him to come along for questioning please. Being big shots is more important to them than in managing quality control to ensure as near to perfection as possible for customers who have to trust that suppliers are doing the decent thing. The NZ government was very worried about somebody providing internet services which people could use to store copyright infringing material but not so worried about causing the death of infants through botulism and other quality control deficiencies. Google Kim Dotcom to read all about it. Governments provide roads along which burglars abscond daily with their haul from houses, with the government doing nothing about it. But they were very concerned that Kim Dotcom provided an information superhighway for moving things in the same way. Neither inspected traffic to ensure it was legal, and neither should they do so.

You can probably now see why I have been keen to produce food for infants and quality control systems to ensure said infants are thriving. Some people said "Oh, you can't compete with Fonterra which is huge and will skoosh you." They said similar things about Zenbu but hey presto, people like good quality at a cheap price. Telecom failed to roll out wifi. So did many others. A couple of providers are still going and probably making a bit of money. But most have run out of steam and are going nowhere.
