I have talked to Egyptians and I can tell you, this perception of Obama and those who cover for him being a Spineless Coalition of Frauds is pervasive if not universal now in Egypt. None of the "sides" have any confidence in this administration.

The Foreign aid that everyone keeps talking about is taken for granted in Egypt. It may have some leverage with the military if they were to take the threat of losing it serious but I'm not sure how far that would go. I suspect they could get something equivalent from Russia or Saudi, if we were to pull out.

Mubarak was a dictator masquerading as a president, but you are right Egypt was stable under his rule. That can be said of all these countries before the so called Arab Spring. There is, however, no going back to those times and I don't think the movement can be blamed on Obama. The problem now is he didn't and doesn't have a clear policy on how to even address the changes taking place in the world. One thing to consider is that there are no good sides in most of these ME messes. Look at Syria and tell me which side is good.

This is a time for America to regroup under principled leadership that represents our interests first.

Obama could have presented a stronger position at the start of his Administration but he didn't. He expressed his willingness to start over with the various global entities as Mr Nice Guy who would make whatever concessions are needed to have the world like him and America. It is predictably backfiring.

When I was in education, I knew teachers who had classrooms of students who adored them. They had one thing in common, "don't smile until winter break." You earn authority by proving your program works and that your limits are solid. Everyone tests the limits; when they find the limits to be true and the program to be beneficial you have earned their respect and they love you for it. Obama has been tested and he has lost credibility as a result.

He is making the same mistake domestically by encouraging black people to claim entitlements, including the entitlement to assault and destroy without incrimination, while expecting the rest of mainstream America to mollycoddle such conduct. Any attempt at correction at this point is viewed as a racial insult.

He knows how to make the tough guy speech but when it is time to act he is spineless and clueless. It is costing his followers more than anyone but we are all paying a price for this.

Our bottom line now, however, is simple. We are in no position to have an impact on what is going on in the Middle East. I would prefer Obama stay out of the mess now, it is too late for him. His involvement is only making things worse in various parts of the world where other power players, like Putin, are going to eat him alive.
