TOLEDO, Ohio, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- NorAm Gaming and Entertainment Corp.
(OTC Bulletin Board: NRAG):
Returning from a five day visit to Venezuela, NorAm CEO, George C. Zilba,
announced today that the Company will have the first of the VLT lottery
terminals for the Cojedes lottery project installed and operating by Monday,
Dec. 15, 1997.
During last week's visit, representatives of the Joint Venture
Partnership, consisting of NorAm, L.Y.M.C.A., and Sharp Image Gaming, Intl.,
met with Cojedes Governor, Alberto Galindes and other state officials to
provide the Governor and his staff with an update on the lottery. The team
also visited the new offices of the partnership in Valencia and Caracas, and
viewed the sites where the first of the VLT terminals will be placed in the
Caracas area.
According to Mr. Zilba, "The project is right on schedule, and we could
not be more pleased with the way things are going. We were extremely
impressed with the site selection for the VLT terminals, especially after
visiting the sites in person, and observing the number of people playing other
lotteries. Our jackpot prize is more than 10 times that of the competition,
which should result in long lines to play our terminals. I am convinced that
we can quickly surpass the previous financial projections for this project."
NorAm's team included attorney, James Gagel, of Washington, D.C.
Mr. Gagel is considered to be an expert on gaming projects in South America,
and was recently hired by NorAm as an independent consultant to do a review of
the lottery project. Mr. Gagel's report is expected this week and will be
posted by NorAm on the Company's Web site (http://www.noramgaming.com).
