bilow, I do calls on cpq when I knowit's way out of balance. aftre cpq splits in januay there is one aact. I'll start covered calling. I do buy puts on cpq to prot. myself when things are about to happen. I don't guess that right all the time.. maybe 50% of time. Here is why I think cpq only has good nesw when they announce in january and may announce news before then. Cpq already has this qtr in the bag. they know the results. So, when the cfo brags and mouths off like last firday. he knows he will not have to eat his words in 30 days. they have a spit which is stupid if you are going to announce bad news in jan98. they start a divey in january. they continue to stress this 50 billion by 2000. They continue to stress that the overseas is doing great with the lower cost in business side and the sub k. it's too many things so it means a warning can only happen in 2q nt 1q.. the only issue I don't know yet is if 1q98 will sequentially be the same as 4q97 since 4q's tend to be blowouts. I know they will discount and take reserve on every pc in the channel so they can show it sold at lower price and then give concessions to move it out in 1q98.
