The relative absence of blue cities on this and other lists is telling, and ironic. Many cities shaped by blue policies are no longer hospitable to those looking for growth and opportunity; it seems only the wealthy can enjoy them. Ultimately, the kind of government that makes having children or starting a business risky life decisions is a failed government.

LOL. The relative absence of blue cities is because they are big, successful and expensive. That's not typically where families head.........families need cheap. And where do you find cheap........the South. However, the big blue cities are very popular with single Millennials who are causing a major boom in the housing markets of DT Chicago, DT NY, DT LA and yes, even DT Detroit. So sorry.
