They do not evolve. You can actually take it all the way back to the 1700's. The conservatives were the slave holders and lived in the south. The liberals lived in the north. The south in the 1800's was Democratic and the Republican's lived in the north. Conservative's and liberal's changed party names around 1900.

All that happened was the liberals and conservatives changed names around the turn of the century. Look at Harding, Coolidge and Hoover. Same ol, same ol.

That is why Obama was crazy to try and make deals with them and let his power go unused. Going into office he had the power to change the dynamic and he squandered it. By far the most important thing he could have done was use all his power to help the dems win across the nation in 2010.

And now even though Obama makes speech after speech about how it is time for both parties to act responsible, there is no substance to it. All his speeches are falling on deaf ears.

Obama and the dems are now lame ducks until 2020 when gerrymandering will take place again. All we can do it play defense and pray to god the dems win every presidency. And look how the pubs have stepped up there game in threatening to boycott CNN and NBC over the Clinton documentary.

And wait for the next debt ceiling or any other toe hold they can get. The pubs are going to continue to tear this country apart with their venal mindlessness.
