abuses of monopoly power created by wealth

Standard Oil was his biggest target, perhaps because of Tarbell's rabble rousing. Rockefeller was consistently bringing down the cost of kerosene thanks to his market dominance to the benefit of everyone.

I'm unaware of instances then of financial success causing abuses unless it involved collusion with bought politicians.

Contrary to instilled prevalent opinion I suspect the monopoly boogeyman is largely myth.
