The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position.

When was that? I saw a discussion on ideas that would have the potential to help people break out of a cycle of poverty and hopelessness. Why would you object to that?
