Options update for 12/8...Ballard Power!

BLD: Well, I mentioned a while ago that BLD was a bottle rocket that had $2 moves almost every day; in the last eight trading sessions it's up about $16, closing today near $90, up $6. Early in the day someone sold 100 Dec 85s around $2.75--they closed $5.50 bid. The seller did manage to knock about 7 points off the vol, but I bet he wishes he hadn't. I don't have a clue what's moving this thing or how far it's going to go, but it's sure fun to watch. (47,47) By the way, this is lower vol than ABX--go figure.

BCE: All-time high for Bell today. It seems a little early for dividend buying (ex-div the 11th), but NTL up almost $4. I don't generally spit into the wind, so I'm going to stay long and not try to pick a top for BCE. (25,25)

N: No news. No trading. No interest. What happened to the take-over?

ABX: The really interesting play the last few days has been one client who is desperate to buy back his ABX Jan 35 and 40 puts and sell Leap puts. So far he's rolled about 500; get your pens and papers out and try to figure his thinking on this--today he buys ABX Jan 37.4 puts for $15.10 and sells LBA(Jan 2000) 35 puts for $12.60. I'm still scratching my head over this one (but I'm very, VERY grateful). He also bought ABX M35s and sold LBA M35s flat. (50,47 and solid)

Funny action in the Dow today--Indus down and trans up about the same. Advancers led decliners. I think the market wants to go higher for now, but I'm keeping a weather eye on the bonds. No real need to get worried until 30-yr yield nears 6.65%, imo.

C'mon, let's get this thread active again.

Happy trading.

Porter

Whats the best site(s) for Canadian Option quotes? (15 min. delayed is OK for now ).
Any recommendation on "Options" technical analysis software.

Thanks so much for your guidance.
