Pretty much everything you wrote is demonstrably incorrect ... and as far as I know, even most people in NY are Christians.

Why do Christians believe those things????

Christians 'believe these things' because they have experienced something dramatically and inalterably life-changing that apparently you have not. And your arrogance in degrading their beliefs, simply because you have not reached the point of sharing them, is beyond comprehension.

Genuine tolerance is comprised of recognizing that all of humanity need not see or experience the world through the same perceptions that you do. And genuine intolerance is comprised of mercilessly degrading those who do not.

>> You, of course, mean most people in this country, not the world.

I believe that there are over 2.1 Billion Christians, and over 1.5 Billion Muslims in the world, that those are two biggest religious sects, and both believe Jesus lived, and that amounts to 3.6 Billion of the world's 7 Billion population, so that is "most of the people in the world."

And there are substantial numbers in addition to these who believe Christ lived. So, no, I meant pretty much what I said.

In addition, if one looks at the history of the world back to the relevant time period, there is a lot of evidence that Christ did live. And I rather seriously doubt that Christ, from what we do know about him, "endorsed mass killing".

As to the rest of it, I'm not a particularly religious person, but I do believe that everyone should develop a belief system he or she is comfortable with and as long as they don't commit violence against other people, I don't much care what a person's religious beliefs are.

Some of the most devoted Christians in the world are the same black population that supported Barack Obama to the tune of 90+%.

Do you think they are idiots? Yes or No.
